Who We Are

Allie is our Creative Director, where she dreams up and creates all the artwork, merch, and aesthetic magic you see around here. She’s hopelessly devoted to slow-burn romances and deep yearning—the ones that hurt in the best way. When she’s not at the shop, she’s probably wrangling her two dogs, hanging out in her garden, or doing some sort of craft. Ask her for a book rec and she’ll probably hand you three, “just in case.”💕

Annabelle is our tech coordinator, where she likes to be a contact point for our wonderful book clubs. While she runs Blush and Blade, she is a huge supporter of all of our store book clubs. She’s passionate about amplifying author voices from marginalized identities. She’s especially fond of books focusing on found family and the latest book that captures that giddy feeling you get when a couple is just so cute you can’t wait for them to get together (also known as the kilig feeling in Tagalog). When she’s not talking about books, she’s probably in line for Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland. Ask them for a recommendation and you’ll walk away with a new fantasy favorite 💕

Katie is the owner of In Bloom Bookery! She spends her days surrounded by the best kind of chaos—books, book clubs, and the occasional stack of receipts. She has a soft spot for slow burns and magical worlds, and will happily gush about The Knight and the Moth or Binding 13 if you give her half a chance. When she’s not at the shop, you’ll probably find her with a coffee in one hand, a half-finished puzzle in front of her, and a TBR pile that could double as a safety hazard.

Michelle is our Store Manager, where she works with her rowdy team of amazing women to help her customers have a memorable experience. She loves to find titles for even the most difficult requests and if our merch setup catches your eye, chances are Michelle set it up. She is especially fond of food related books, be it romance or memoir. You can catch her raving about titles featuring magical realism, a foodie story, or an epic fantasy. When she’s not remerchandising the entire store, she can be found out on a ride with her fiance or exploring a new coffee shop. Ask her for a recommendation and you’ll walk away with your new favorite 💕

Nicole is our Events Manager, where she coordinates our events and runs our social media accounts. She’s obsessed with yearning–hopeless, heart-wrenching yearning–and you can usually catch her raving about underrated YA titles, Binding 13, and of course, Conrad Fisher. When she’s not hosting an event or editing a silly TikTok, she’s probably strumming on her guitar, experimenting with a new recipe, or staring down her enormously large TBR pile. Ask her for a recommendation and you’ll walk away with a new YA, contemporary, or fantasy favorite.💕

Sam is our Author Liaison, where she not only recommends the best underrated fantasy but also works with local authors to get their books into our store. She’s especially fond of fated mates and good banter, and you can usually catch her raving about her favorite book or current obsession. When she’s not listening to an audiobook, she is probably on Canva making content for her bookstagram. Ask her for a recommendation and you’ll walk away with a new fantasy favorite 💕

Simone is a bookseller, craft connoisseur, and certified yapper.  Not only will you find her yapping about books on the daily, but you'll always see her at in-store events with the team!  Her go to trope is friends to lovers, and you can usually catch her obsessing over the latest paranormal novel with a not so human ML. When she's not shelving books or yapping your ear off, she's either planning her next activity with her book club, or wrist deep in clay. Ask her for a recommendation and you’ll walk away with your new monstrous obsession👹💕

Taylor is our book clubs manager and the go-to person for all things book clubs. She supports both new and established clubs, helping them grow, stay organized, and thrive. As founder of Chicklits Book Club, she’s passionate about creating spaces where readers can connect, laugh and gush over their latest reads. She loves swoony romances, banter-filled fantasies, and twisty thrillers. When she’s not surrounded by all things books, you can find her cuddling her cats, listening to Taylor Swift, grabbing sushi with her husband, or planning the next book club exclusive event. Ask her for a recommendation and you’ll walk away with a couple of new favorites- and a bookmark to go with it! 

Winnie is our resident golden retriever and part-time emotional support specialist. She isn’t always at the shop, but when she is, you’ll find her brightening the room with tail wags and gentle company. Her talents include leaning against your legs at just the right moment, reminding everyone to slow down, and offering quiet comfort between chapters. While she leaves the book recommending to the humans, she’s here to make sure the store always feels a little softer and warmer.💕
